Meetings & Events: 2024 - 2025

Unless otherwise noted, all meetings and events occur at our Clubhouse, 

903 Ponce de Leon Blvd, Belleair FL  33756            

Occur October to May.  Our meetings are normally held on the first Wednesday of the month at 1:00 p.m.  The meetings consist of a program presentation followed by a light Tea.  Attire is dressy casual.  No RSVP required for most meetings.

Persons interested in membership at the Belleair Garden Club are encouraged to attend as a guest. New members are always welcomed!

Occur October through April (except December).  These meetings are normally held on the second Wednesday of the month beginning at 9:30 a.m. for coffee . The program begins at 10:00 a.m. Attire is casual.  No RSVP required. Occasionally the program consists of a field trip.  RSVP is required for all field trips.

Guests are always welcome at our Horticultural Meetings!

New this year, the Belleair Garden Club  offers a variety of Interactive workshops for hands-on learning experiences, such as floral design, decoupage pumpkins,  wreath making, pinecone angels, paper lanterns, make & take painting, macramé, and garden-themed crafting sessions.  The workshops are open to the public.  Fees will vary.

October 2, 2024    The Belleair Garden Club welcomes members and the community to attend our 2024/2025 Kick Off Meeting  at our historic clubhouse in Belleair, FL.  Gather at 12:30, meeting at 1 pm.  A light tea is served afterwards.

October 19, 2024  1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M. WORKSHOP - DECOUPAGE PUMPKINS

Swap the pumpkin carving mess for craft supplies this Halloween with this decoupage workshop at the Belleair Garden Club! In this fun class, you'll learn how to create a decoupage pumpkin design that you can proudly display in your home! Get ready to unleash your creativity as Nancy Sardinas Lambert guides you through the process step-by-step. 

Don't worry if you're new to decoupage – Nancy will provide all the materials you need, including a faux pumpkin, embellishments, and tools.  Just bring your enthusiasm and imagination! Refreshments will also be provided.

During the class, you'll immerse yourself in the artistic process and learn a new technique. Let your imagination run wild as you personalize your pumpkin creation.

At the end of the workshop, not only will you have a gorgeous decoupage pumpkin to take home, but you'll also leave with cherished memories of a fun and creative afternoon.  Visit our Fundraising Page to book!

Presenter:  Dr. Beth Bradley, Senior Science and Conservation Associate from Savethemanatee.org will present on the effects of "Fertilizer and our Waterways", sea grass, boats, harassment, and climate change.

November 9,  2024  1:00 - 3:00 WORKSHOP -  CANVAS PAINTING WITH HEATHER'S TRAVELING CANVAS  - "THANKFUL/GRATEFUL"  Pumpkins with Gratitude!  Bring your friends to our Nov. 9th workshop at the Belleair Garden Club! Get ready to unleash your creativity as Heather guides you through the process step-by-step.  Don't worry if you're new to painting – Heather will provide all the materials and tools you need. There are different choices of designs that you can paint. Just bring your enthusiasm and imagination!  Refreshments are included.  Please book early!  Visit our Fundraising Page to book!

November 13, 2024 10:00 AM  Program: Waterwise Rainwater Harvesting Presented by Melissa West,  FLorida Friendly Landscaping Educator will explain how rainwater barrels help the environment and save valuable drinking water.  Attendees will receive a discount on the purchase of a rain barrel.

December 4, 2024: Gather at 11:30 A.M  for our Annual Holiday Luncheon for Members and Guests.  RSVP Please.

Members will meet at the Belleair Garden Club for a Special Holiday Potluck and our traditional "White Elephant Gift Exchange".  Attendees:  Please bring a potluck dish and a wrapped gift. (Optional. Max. on gift $15)

Saturday, December 7, 2024: 10:00 A.M. - 11:30 A.M.  WORKSHOP:  Pine Cone Angels, led by Hilles Smith.  Come join the fun with Hilles and create a one-of-a-kind Gilded Angel, crafted with natural elements such as pinecones, milkweed pods, acorns and cute add-ons.  You can even turn it into an ornament! $15 Fee covers all materials, instruction, and light refreshments. Pay at the door, or prepay here on our Fundraising Page.  No RSVP needed. Bring your friends!  Hilles also has a fun holiday game planned to challenge our minds!  After the workshop, feel free to shop our curated selection of Holiday Decor and Gifts!  Open to the public, all ages.

January 8, 2025  Gather at 12:30, meeting at 1 pm.  A light tea is served afterwards.

Program:    The Art of Bonsai and Bonsai Grafting Presented by Greg Ferro, Bonsai Horticulturist, and owner of Belleair Bonsai, and a member of our garden club!

 Greg will demonstrate grafting techniques and the result of previous grafting work.

 Open to all. Free of charge.

The Belleair Garden Club Junk & Jewels Sale will be held Feb. 6-8, 2025. Proceeds from the sale help support the club’s Scholarship and Historic Restoration Programs.  

January 15, 2025 10 AM- Native Plants

Presenter Zach Pitchford from Wilcox Nursery will show a variety of native plants and discuss their importance in residential landscapes. Program will take place at the Belleair Garden Club.

February 6, 2025   JUNK & JEWELS  ANNUAL PRESALE NIGHT! 4:30 - 7:00 PM. 

$5.00 Entry Fee on Presale Night only.  Open to the Public. Details below.

February 7-8, 2025  BELLEAIR GARDEN CLUB ANNUAL JUNK & JEWELS SALE

8:00 AM - 2:00 PM Open to the Public. No Entry Fee!  Bring your friends!    

Find a treasure at the Belleair Garden Club’s Annual "Junk & Jewels Sale" fundraiser, which will be held Friday and Saturday, February 7-8,  2025. The event is open to the public, and there is no charge to attend. Hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.  In addition, the club will offer their customary  " Pre-Sale Night" on Thursday, February 6, 2025, 4:30-7:00 p.m.. Collectors and shoppers can browse and get the first dibs on all the goods. There is a $5 entry fee to attend the presale night only.

Local residents and visitors throughout the Tampa Bay area look forward to the huge upscale rummage sale which has been held annually inside the historic garden club building in Belleair for more than 30 years. The entire clubhouse will be overflowing with an eclectic mix of finds including Antiques, Collectibles, Jewelry, Home & Holiday Décor, Furniture, Art, Clothing & Accessories, Books, Toys, Tools, Household Goods, and Vintage Treasures. 

Back by popular demand, will be an Outdoor Plant Sale featuring an assortment of potted plants, gardening tools and accessories available for purchase. The plant sale will run Feb. 7-8, while supplies last.  New this year is a Bake Sale featuring delicious homemade cakes, cookies, pies, Valentine treats and more!

Don't miss out on the excitement and community spirit of this highly anticipated event! There will be something for everyone, plus it benefits a good cause.   

February 19, 2025  Gather at 12:30, meeting at  1 pm.  A light tea is served afterwards. Program:  ORCHID EXTRAVAGANZA 

Presenters: Michael and Paula Pollin, owners of Art Stone Orchids & Statuary.  A large selection of orchids will be available for purchase.  The Belleair Garden Club's Junk & Jewels "After Sale"  will be open for shopping.   Bring a friend! No fee to attend.  Donations welcome.

March 5, 2025   Gather at the clubhouse at12:30; meeting and program begin at 1 pm.  Program:  Healthy Trees, Safe People  Presented by O'Neil’s Tree Service. Learn about Tree Planting, Pruning, and Plant Heath & Care.

A light tea will be served afterwards.   

March 12, 2025 10 AM  FIELD TRIP  to McGough Nature Park in Largo

The presentation will include reptiles and birds of prey (feeding at 10 AM).  A $4 donation is requested.  Meet at 11901 146th street north in Largo.

April 2, 2025 - Gather at 12:30, meeting at 1 pm.  A light tea is served afterwards.

Program:  Beneficial  Backyard Bugs  Presented by Kathy Hefele, Master Gardener Volunteer and President of Belleair Garden Club.  Kathy will cover some of the most common, and most interesting insects. You’ll learn to appreciate what you see in your yard when we talk about how life cycles intermingle and how necessary they are for our survival. Bring your bug questions and learn some fun facts!  Open to all. Bring a friend!

April 10, 2025  FIELD TRIP: Art in Bloom.  Fine Arts Museum in St. Petersburg.  This is a fun self guided tour of art and flower arranging.   Lunch at a local restaurant will be arranged in conjunction with this field trip. Consider carpooling.   Please RSVP. 

April 29, 2025 – 5:30-7:30 pm - COMMUNITY EVENT: SPRING SOCIAL BY BELLEAIR STROLL AT THE BELLEAIR GARDEN CLUB Mark your calendars for April 29th because you won't want to miss the Spring Social by Belleair Stroll at the charming Belleair Garden Club!
