Investing in Tomorrow's Garden Leaders

Scholarship Program

 The Belleair Garden Club is proud to support students pursuing careers in horticulture, botany, agronomy, environmental studies, landscape architecture, conservation, and other related fields. Through our scholarship program, we invest in education, leadership, and the future of our communities by encouraging the next generation of environmental stewards. 

Scholarship Eligibility

The Belleair Garden Club Scholarship is awarded to qualified students pursuing higher education in horticulture, environmental sciences, landscape architecture, botany, conservation, or other related fields.

Applicants must be a resident of Pinellas County, FL, and planning to pursue education in one of the identified areas.

Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and submit all required application materials by the published deadline. 

How to Apply

 Applications are accepted during the annual scholarship application period. Before submitting your application, please review all eligibility requirements and gather the required supporting documents. You must also submit a copy of your current high school transcript and two letters of recommendation; one must be from a teacher from one of the above areas of study.

These may be mailed to Belleair Garden Club Scholarship, 903 Ponce de Leon Blvd, Belleair, FL  33756

 or emailed to belleairgardenclub1@gmail.com.  Please use your name as the Subject. 

Completed applications must be received by April 1 to be considered.   


Selection Process

Scholarships will be awarded based on the applicant's previous academic and work experience, plans and vision for pursuing this career, as well as financial need.  BGC does not discriminate based on race, religion, gender identity, political affiliation, or disability.  Applications are reviewed by the Belleair Garden Club Scholarship Committee. Scholarship recipients are selected based on: 

  • Academic achievement 
  • Community service and volunteer involvement 
  • Leadership and extracurricular activities 
  • Career goals and educational plans 
  • Quality and completeness of the application 

 Applicants will be notified of their status by May 1.
